Slapdash

/slapˌdaSH/ :  without plan or organization; careless, random.

That's how our summer has been so far.  Carefree and random.  Most days we don't have a plan but we still manage to have fun.

Sofia loves to build forts.  This creation was for quiet time.  She is in there watching PBS Kids on my iPad.

We went to this cute little farm in Richardson with Sofia's preschool group.  We fed the goats, got a hay ride, and checked out some horses.  Then we had a picnic lunch and let the kids run around.

It is HOT HOT HOT here. Today was 108 F.  So we have doing lots of things to beat the heat.  Mason loves the water!  It calms him instantly if he is cranky.

We have had a few random showers. Sofia is very proud of her pink polka-dot rain boots!
The library in our town has fun free shows each Monday.  This was when we saw David Chicken the Emmy Award winning chicken-shaped-guitar playing, singing and dancing performer.

We have spent lots of time with my sister and her kids.  I love having her close !

Sofia and I went to see Brave together.  We both loved the movie and loved spending time together just us!

Josef has been working long hours and at the end of an exhausting day sometimes a trip to Dairy Queen is in order.

Another afternoon treat. Slurpees!

Cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-a.

Sofia loves to try on clothes almost as much as she likes to pose in front of the mirror.  Just like her mother!

The library is a weekly activity.  We really do have the best library!  It is 4 stories and the second is completely dedicated to children with a puppet theater, play kitchen, felt boards, and lots of space for chubby baby boys to crawl and climb, and big sisters to cozy up with a barbie book.

14 out of 15 of these pictures come from Instagram, a.k.a. my latest tech obsession.

Such a great update! Summer is fun, even if it is miserably hot.
