A Merry Christmas

This is a bitter sweet Christmas Eve. Bitter because a childhood friend (whom I have known for 20 years) of both my sister and I lost her battle with Leukemia last night. She has always been a great example to me of unfailing positivity. Even in these last months of her life as she was suffering so much from host-versus-graft disease (a result of a bone marrow transplant) she remained unfaltering in her faith. But this saddness is made sweet because of our Savior Jesus Christ, the "reason for the season". May we all take time today and tomorrow to express gratitude to our Father in Heaven for the Greatest Gift ever given.

I am so sorry Jenny. Take some time to reflect on some of your best times together.

Consider yourself hugged from Chicago.
