Canton Trade Days

A couple Saturdays ago I went to the First Monday Trade Days in Canton with a couple of my wonderful friends. We first heard about the trade days back in April or May and have since been trying to coordinate our schedules so we could all go together (child free). So this month we finally took our much anticipated day trip out to Canton.

We woke up bright and early Saturday morning, strapped on our tennis shoes, and made the hour and a half drive east in my mom's gigantic station wagon (just in case we wanted to buy something big). To give you an idea of how huge the trade fair is, there are about 28 miles of isles of vendors and it is supposed to be the largest outdoor market in the world! Needless to say we were pooped when we got home from the miles and miles we walked, but we had an absolute blast shopping all day with out children.

Back home our husbands got together too, to let the kids play. On our way home we picked up pizzas for everyone. Then us girls headed home for some sleep and the boys stayed up to play Rock Band and to watch Fast and Furious. I guess they felt left out and needed some male bonding time:)

So what did I get? Four projects: an old window that I'm going to turn into a memory board; an unfinished child-sized porch swing for Sofia (my favorite purchase); an awesome shelf for Sofia's room that needs to be spray painted pink; and an old wooden tool caddy I will paint for napkins, salt and pepper, etc. All for under $50!
