I got the idea for this "sensory box" on the internet. Really its just a tub with rice dumped in it and various objects to pour, scoop, dig, and play. Sofia loves it and the first time I brought it out she sat and entertained herself for 1.5 hours. I need to find more independent play activities like this for Sofia. Things that entertain her for longer then 10 minutes....

Don't know if you have one, but my daughter loves the sand/water table we have. We just keep it in the garage. Maybe you can do that or have one in the backyard that can keep her contained and not running around the street. And you can just pull up a chair and relax.
that is awesome! after you posted that I did one with buckets and noodles (spiral) that we were never gonna eat. The girls loved that for a couple days!
