Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend we spent with my family. My cousin David, his wife Jami and their son Joseph came to stay with my parents for the weekend from College Station. Another cousin Bethanie and her husband Josh were there as well. It was fun to spend time with family that we don't get see very often. Saturday everyone gathered at my parents for a big breakfast, which I am told was yummy. Josef, Sofia, and I didn't go because that night was long, so we decided to sleep in instead. We met up with everyone at Celebration Park which has a cool spray slash pad and play ground. The only child there that could actually appreciate the spray splash pad was Joseph (who's 2), Sofia will have to wait another year to play there. But Josef and I were feeling young at heart so we acted like kids and had a good time playing and getting wet. Here are some pictures from the park.

The boys played bocce ball (David, Dad, Josef, Josh). What's funny is that they all made sure that their balls coordinated with their shirts. What a bunch of girls, ha ha!

Our group, with the spray splash pad in the background. You'll have to pardon me in this picture, I'm bustin' a sag in my skirt =)

"I love you this much!!"

Joseph drinking the water. Probably not the best thing since that water is recirculated, but all the other kids were doing it!

After we played we all headed back to my parent's house for a barbecue. There was so much good food including a t-bone steak for each of us, YUM! My mom even made homemade vanilla custard ice cream, which I'm told was heavenly with all 9 egg yolks and 4 cups of heavy cream! Unfortunately I couldn't have any, sigh. Just a side note, the day I wean Sofia I'm going to Cold Stone and getting a "gotta have it" German chocolate cake! Sofia was having a hard time nursing that day. I spent a good portion of the time in my parents bedroom trying to get her to eat and nap. Oh well, I still had a good time.

Sunday after church we headed back to my parents for yet another delicious meal. I was so happy to not have to cook the entire weekend! Sofia was doing much better so I was able to visit with my family more. I can't wait to have gatherings at our new house, which we close on in less then a week!

Monday Josef and I went furniture shopping for our new house. I can't wait to have new nice furniture! We're going to wait until after we close to purchase anything because we don't want to mess up our credit rating and loan interest rate by buying anything on credit. We've looked at a lot of stores and found a few things we really like, but here is the couch that is my front runner so far.

Looks like ya'll had fun! Sofia looks cute! I tell ya some boys like to be color coordinated, that is not surprising to me since Josef was there! :-) lol...
